Overview

ONIMS started its Bachelor in Nursing program in 2022, the first-ever such program in Mianwali with a vision to prepare competent and skilled nurses who would not only fulfill the acute shortage of quality nurses within the country but would also cater to the demands of the health care system in Pakistan while serving different roles.

Nursing is emerging as a highly-skilled and demanding profession that requires empathy and compassion to provide holistic care to a diverse patient population with complex needs. The Modern Health model emphasizes prevention over treatment, expanding the function of the nurse from a caregiver to an educator, a counselor, or a certified Nurse Practitioner, and requiring more responsibility from nurses.

We at Obaid Noor Institute of Medical Sciences believe that nursing is an integral part of the health care system and that it is also a rapidly evolving profession that maintains its nobility in all aspects. The institute is working hard to train nurses who will be able to provide comprehensive nursing care and will be valuable members of the health team. We hope you will take this journey with us as we prepare to address these challenges.

This is a four years degree program, leading to practice as a Registered Nurse. The degree program fosters integrated nursing knowledge, skills and professional attitude. Upon completion of this program, the graduate is prepared to be a safe clinical nurse, who will be able to provide comprehensive care at primary, secondary and tertiary levels within hospitals and community settings.

Objectives

Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program is based on following objectives:

  • To prepare the students effectively in advance nursing practice, integrating them with the art and science of nursing into the advance nursing role.
  • To act as an effective leader, role model, and advocate for clients in clinical practice and in education.
  • To synthesize advanced knowledge of the social, political, ethical, technical, cultural, spiritual, environmental, and economic factors influencing the health care system and higher education.
  • To integrate the knowledge of theory and research in advance nursing areas.
  • To demonstrate accountability and responsibility in developing advanced nursing roles.
  • To investigate scientifically the issues relevant to advanced nursing education and nursing practice.
  • To evaluate personal achievements, professional growth and excellence in practice.
  • To pursuit of master’s and doctorate in nursing.
